The Effect of Special School Organizational Culture on Teachers Empowerment and Teachers Efficacy

Abstract
The purpose of this study was investigate the effect of perceived special school organizational culture on teachers empowerment and teachers efficacy. The data were collected through a questionnaire written by a sample of 248 teachers working at elementary, middle and high school.
The scales used in this study were School Organizational Culture Scales by Sin(2002). Teachers Empowerment Scales by Yoon(2008), and Teachers Efficacy Scale by Kim & Kim(2004). The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, MANOVA, correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis as a statistical method.
The results of this study were as follows, First, in according to gender, there was no difference in the special school organizational culture, teachers empowerment, and teachers efficacy. And in according to teaching career, there was difference partly in the special school organizational culture, teachers empowerment, and teachers efficacy.
Second, among the subscales of special school organizational culture, progressive culture, affiliation culture, and maintenance culture positively influenced teachers empowerment.
Third, among the subscales of special school organizational culture, both maintenance culture and affiliation culture positively influenced teachers efficacy.
